Yes, we have just passed the longest day and I have become acutely aware that not a lot of studio painting has been accomplished to date. As much as I would like to aspire to spending a little time in the studio every day for at least some time, domestic life seems to be a priority at present.

However, the major event of the summer which was the Arts Fair at Childwickbury held over the first week end of this month, was a great success. As well as enjoying meeting what must have been hundreds of visitors and talking myself horse each day about my painting, I was able to sell 8 paintings in total which is a landmark for me! A large portion of the work on display was from my very productive trip to Cornwall in May and it was good to hear the encouraging remarks from admirers of the paintings and sketches.

The next two events coming up are the St Albans Summer Art exhibition in the hall of Dagnall Street Church in the centre of St Albans from Wednesday 26 – Saturday 29 July.

Then there is a gap in the calendar until October, when I will joining 11 other artists at the Strand Gallery near Charing Cross Station in London. The show is called Colour & Form and will be held from Tuesday 3 to Sunday 8 October at 32 John Adam Street. I will be giving more information in the next blogs.

Here is a short video of the atmosphere and a browse around my stand at the Childwickbury Fair. If you have not been before, I can highly recommend a visit and see the art & crafts on show as well as enjoying quality food and a varied selection of live music.
