So pleased to hear today (14th Nov.) that I have had one of the two paintings that I submitted to the Linden Hall Studio for their annual Winter exhibition accepted for showing.

I did my submission painting after a week stay by Derwentwater in the Lake District last Autumn. I was so taken with those splendid autumn shades and vibrant colours from the landscape, that I felt the need to put this experience into an abstract painting of no particular place. In the painting there is a connection with hills, trees and water which are all denoted in the forms and colours I have used, but the thrust of the painting is a juxtapostion of all those elements as an imagined scene from the experience gathered from that week.
