After the heady atmosphere of the Cork Street show in August, this month has been a time for consideration and reflection to see what direction to turn to in the months ahead as the weather deteriorates. Two holidays are scheduled for the end of September and there will be great opportunities for new material.

Having just had the first exploring week along the Suffolk coast taking in the atmospheric towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh and the Snape Maltings, I had plenty of scope to draw and sketch those wide sky vistas and open reed beds teaming with wildlife. Lovely weather gave me every opportunity to capture those wide open spaces. Look at some of the sketches on the drawing page of the site and a few pictures below this item.

As we go into October I am off to the States to see my son and his family in Brooklyn ( some more sketches in tow) and to start the fortnight a stay at Montauk right on the tip of Long Island.

Fingers crossed for some more competition results – already short listed for the New English Art Club  Open exhibition and submitted 3 more to the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. I expect there will be some results to pass on next month.
