  • The music composer George Butterworth incorporated this folk tune into his orchestral idyll depicting an English summer countryside. It certainly conjures up a picture in my mind, and this is representation of those willows bending to wind is what I imagine when listening to it.
    There are many layers of paint here – the foreground displays verdant greens with blue hints of water, typical to where willows grow. The sky is two tones of blue, the lighter acting as field for the grey green leaves of the willows bending to the wind.
